Carbon electrode paste is used as a self-baking electrode in submerged arc furnaces and is processed from a mixture of Calcined Petroleum coke (CPC)/ Electrically Calcined Anthracite (ECA) and Coal tar pitch binder.

Carbon electrode paste is a critical component of SAF for the production of ferro alloy, pig iron and calcium carbide plants. Therefore, it is important to have the CEP of highest quality.

We at MCPL customise the formulations for your needs based on SAF material to be processed and SAF technical parameters such as furnace diameter and electrical load (MVA).

Carbon tamping paste (ECA and CPC based)

Carbon tamping paste is used as a lining paste for SAF in the manufacturing process of ferro alloys. It is processed from a mixture of CPC or ECA and binder pitch.
We supply two types of tamping pastes: Hot Tamping paste and Cold Tamping paste.
Hot tamping paste is first heated at elevated temperatures and then applied in the SAF bottom. Cold tamping paste is applied at room temperature and then fired before the first tap.
MCPL tamping paste is a product very well received by customers with average life of 10+ years.

Tap Hole Plugging Mix ( SiC Based)

Tap hole plugging mix is a specially designed mixture used to plug the taphole of SAF. By using tap hole plugging mix, the size and shape of the Tap hole is well maintained and reduces erosion of side lining and hence the life of lining increases.

In order to prevent excessive erosion and oxidation, we have developed silicon carbide based Tap Hole Plugging Mix with a good viscosity that can be used in a mud gun.
